A calmer way to work with your books.
Understand the information before you try to reconcile it.
English video · 42 secondsBefore you reconcile
Good records come first.
A bookkeeping tool becomes more useful when you understand the records behind it. I can help you organize your QuickBooks workflow, review account activity, and build a monthly routine with clearer reports and fewer unexplained items.
Three ideas to take with you
- Use the correct account, statement date, and ending balance.
- Confirm that your beginning balance matches the previous reconciliation.
- Investigate a difference instead of forcing an adjustment.
Current U.S. support covers bookkeeping and organizing records for your chosen tax preparer. References to tax preparation support in a video mean record readiness; paid tax-return preparation, signing, and IRS representation are outside the current service scope.

Before you reconcile, take a moment to check the starting information. It can save you time when a balance does not match.
Confirm the correct account. Use the ending date and balance from the statement. Check that the beginning balance agrees with your previous reconciliation.
Then compare your recorded transactions with the statement. If there is a difference, find its cause instead of forcing an adjustment just to make it disappear.
Reconciliation works best when your records are complete. Keep a note of anything that needs a closer look.
